Teachers today are more unionised than blue-collar workers in the heyday of worker activism. This fact is being forced into the public eye by this ill-conceived activity - or inactivity. The public ... is sympatheti to Mr Blunkett’s growing rage and may cheer him on when he talks of ... responses that “could surprise” unions. Before that happens, teachers would do well to master some basic negotiating skills.
