Last week we told you about Your School Site, a new service to host school websites for pound;350 a year. Pip Online is aimed at primary schools, produced by a partnership involving software company Macromedia. The radical part of the service is to provide a set-up that is so simple it can be run by pupils. Yes, they do claim that, and that all Pip websites support the curriculum up to key stage 2. Teams of up to five pupils can run the site. “Let the pupils take care of their section while the secretary can post the school newsletterI” It costs pound;400 yearly rental for a minimum of four years, or a one-off pound;1,200. And it is eligible for e-Learning credits.
