I wonder if Sheena Taylor was reading the same piece by Douglas Osler as I was (TESS, last week)? Far from it being a “snide belittling” of guidance, his piece seemed to me to call for pupil support to be strengthened. Indeed Ms Taylor concedes the case for specialist outside help when she accepts that teachers do not have all the skills required.
