(Photograph) - Thirteen teams from secondaries in Angus were on the starting grid at Carnoustie last week in a bid to become the champions of Formula 1.

Students have been designing and manufacturing models of 200mph F1 cars with the latest software and computer-aided manufacturing equipment in the Jaguar Formula 1 Design Challenge, aimed at increasing interest in car design and the automotive industry.

A home-town team from Carnoustie High won the event, and Brechin High won the award for best-designed car, right. Students from Arbroath Academy are also going forward to the finals in London next month.
