Pupil’s judgment is true sign of success

Mark Jones’s words of thanks to the teachers of his old school (TES, August 25) should mean far more to them than any glowing Ofsted report or test results.

To enable a disaffected pupil to strive for something better through education, and to offerhope and encouragement along the way, is not easy. The staff at Grange School, in Dudley, have given Mark a chance to prove himself, against all the odds. I wish him success in his future studies.
