THOUSANDS of A-level and GCSE candidates sitting exams this month will be able to see their marked papers for the first time. Exam boards are to return GCSE scripts to 200 schools as part of a pilot scheme to make the exam process more transparent. A-level candidates in 1,000 schools and colleges will also be able to collect photocopies of their marked papers in 10 subjects.

Ministers hope to introduce the national return of marked scripts and this year’s pilot will investigate how it could work in practice.
