Most students feel sensitive issues in history should be taught in schools, a preliminary study in Northern Ireland and Oxford has found. The survey of 1,737 secondary-school students by Margaret Conwa, of the Institute of Education, London university, found three out of four students felt comfortable about all topics on their syllabus. Irish history was the topic most likely to make Northern Irish students feel uneasy. In England, learning about the holocaust was most likely to make students feel uncomfortable.
