A Punch-and-Judy booth in which you can create your own puppet shows is one of the exhibits at Manchester’s People’s History Museum. The puppets link to the museum’s educational programme and can help young children investigate the past. “Living history” sessions, with actors in costume portraying ordinary people, are provided as well. One is a Co-op shopworker from the 1930s-40s, and there is a recreation of that era’s shopping experience. For details, call Pete Brown on 0161 839 6061.
