I agree with Stephen Heppell when he says we are “facing the death of Education, but are very much at the dawn of Learning” (January 1). My own experience of working in challenging urban schools is that we have lost the meaning and purpose of education.
In looking forward to the next 10 years in education, the most revolutionary investment we can make will be in teachers, by clarifying for them what they are educating for and allowing them the time, space and resources to engage and inspire their students, regardless of how many computers are in the room.
