Can we? Should we? is a CD-Rom packed with resources for Science Year. The title refers to some of the issues raised by our power to influence the food chain, immunisation and non-renewable forms of energy. Regarded as a question about using the activities in class, the answer is a resounding yes. There are some excellent ideas for enlivening lessons at key stage 3, as well as quizzes, reports on schools’ own mini-projects on ponds, flowers and fungi, links to many helpful websites. This is the third CD-Rom in a series of five. The first, Is there life?, was sent out free of charge to all heads of science at middle and secondary schools, inviting teachers to register to receive the whole set free as each CD-Rom is released. To find out if your school has registered or to order more copies, email Jenifer Burden.
