In a bid to celebrate religious diversity, Bradford Interfaith Education Centre has launched its Sacred Spaces DVD packs, which give a virtual tour of places of worship in the city. The discs include footage of a Buddhist centre, a church, a mosque and a synagogue, a Sikh gurdwara and a Hindu mandir, where you would find a statue of the Lord Ganesh (left), plus key facts and task sheets. They are aimed at 10- to 12-year-old pupils.

“This is a great way to get pupils learning and thinking about different religions in one of the most mixed and interesting areas in the UK,” said a spokeswoman.
