A newly-qualified teacher who quit his job in a bid to avoid failing his induction year has lost his appeal to England’s General Teaching Council.
Kristian Jelliff was so convinced he would fail that he tried to resign from Ranvilles junior school in Fareham, Hampshire, last December, days before a meeting to discuss his future.
The GTC ruled last week that Hampshire county council had the right to determine the outcome of Mr Jelliff’s induction period and dismissed his appeal.
