In the year of the 200th anniversary of the world’s first steam locomotive - Richard Trevithick’s Penydarren - and the 100th anniversary of City of Truro breaking the 100mph barrier, the National Railway Museum in York is mounting a Railfest.

Record-breaking locomotives on display will include the first steam locomotive, the latest tilting train and Olton Hall, the train star of the Harry Potter films. Admission: pound;4-pound;7.50, children four and under free. Early booking recommended.
