How would the world function without certain standards? What if the sockets on electrical equipment were all different shapes or our credit and debit cards were different sizes? BSI Education is an online resource for students and teachers to learn more about standards and the impact they have on every day life and business. Launched by the British Standards Institution (BSI), and supported by the National Standardisation Strategic Framework (NSSF), there is information about the BSI Kitemark, as well as standards in food packaging, electronics, toys and much more. The site is broken down into three age groups (7-11, 11-14 and 14-19) and offers games for pupils and lesson plans for teachers. There are also links to the BSI site for higher education and other related websites such as the Department of Trade and Industry and the Food Standards Agency.
