Groups which visit the 300 year-old Crimea Farm, in the Peak District, see primary teacher turned farmer, Britt Sansom, put her sheepdog Nan through her paces and are shown a wide variety of animals, all of which are there either as part of a breeding programme for rare breeds’ conservation or for food or fibre production. The children can get involved in everything from milking the dairy goat to bottle feeding and they have a go at rural crafts such as spinning, weaving and natural dyeing.
