RE set for national framework

THE first national framework for religious education could be in operation by Christmas, the Church Times says today. A feasibility study by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority is nearing completion and has the unanimous support of the Religious Educational Council for England and Wales. The Church Times says it now seems certain that the QCA will ask ministers officially to commission the framework - in effect, a detailed RE programme for all primary and secondary schools - next month.
