Many children who do not consider themselves bookworms actually spend a lot of time reading, a survey has found. A third of pupils claim to be non-readers, according to the National Literacy Trust poll. But of these, two-thirds enjoy magazines and more than half regularly surf the internet. By contrast, only 53 per cent read fiction and only a quarter read non-fiction.
