The function and position of drama in the national curriculum will be debated at the Drama 2000 conference on September 18 and 19 at the Central School of Music and Drama in London.

HMI and QCA staff will attend, and it is hoped the conference will influence what should constitute a broad and balanced drama curriculum that goes beyond the conception described in the English order.

LEA advisers, officers, teachers and teacher educators concerned about the future of drama in the national curriculum are encouraged to attend.

The fee is Pounds 155 per delegate. For more details call 0171 690 4421 or see www.dokumenta.co.ukdrama.html
