Exploring Shape and Whispering Corner

Based on work in Holland, this listening and speaking teaching resource for children in reception and key stage 1 has been trialled in 34 Devon schools. The book offers a structured range of teacher-led activities followed by others which children work through independently or in small groups. It aims to develop auditory discrimination and phonological awareness and to introduce vocabulary to do with sounds. It comes with audio-tape recordings of songs and sound effects. Pounds 11.50.
