I fear Bev Curtis makes a mistake in the School Management Update (TES, November 4). He says that “the recognised trade unions will be those recognised by the local education authority in the case of locally managed schools . . .” The truth is that a locally-managed school can recognise unions not recognised by the LEA as well as those recognised by it.
