Record admission appeals settled

Soaring numbers of disputes over school organisation and admissions are being decided by adjudicators, a report revealed this week. Professor Philip Hunter, chief schools adjudicator, said that the number of cases had risen from 78 last year to 233 this year, largely because of new codes of practice for admissions.
