SUPPLY teacher agency Protocol is to stop running teacher-training conferences, after low demand left many big events under-booked. Twelve employees will lose their jobs at its Chancery Lane headquarters, though eight of these will be re-employed in other roles. Protocol, which employs 170 staff at 15 locations and represents 6,500 teachers, said: “We prefer to see the redundancies as the failure of our training side, rather than the victims of the supply-teacher boom.”
