Regional pay plans in doubt

Unpopular plans to introduce regional pay for teachers should be shelved, the Westminster government revealed last week in a surprise admission. The School Teachers' Review Body is still part of the way through collecting evidence, but last week a Downing Street spokeswoman said: "Unless there is strong evidence and a good case for it, things won't change."
