Religious salad is not a universal taste

TREVOR Phillips (TES, December 15) writes as though common acceptance of the visibility of all faiths is morally superior to religious uniformity. But he would not propose this to Indian Hindus or northern Nigerian Muslims; nor would he say it should characterise the rabian Peninsula.

So if religious salad is not a universal value, why should we want it here? Is there something special about Mr Phillips’ Little England?
