A science teacher who slapped a 14-year-old pupil's bottom in class and called her a "naughty girl" has been found guilty of unacceptable professional conduct. Trevor Towers was teaching a Year 10 class at Trevethin School in South Wales at the time of the incident. The General Teaching Council for Wales panel said his conduct fell "far short" of expected standards. Mr Towers can continue to teach but was given a conditional registration order.
