England’s education secretary Michael Gove has asked Ofsted to inspect Downhills Primary, the London school whose governors have threatened legal action if it is forced to become an academy. Downhills’ governors argued that a switch to academy status on the grounds of failure before Ofsted’s verdict was premature. The deadline has now been lifted pending the outcome of the inspection.
