English teaching jamboree

NATE is offering bursaries of up to #163;500 for English teachers to attend a conference in New Zealand, next April. The theme for the meeting of the International Federation is Much Ado About English. Visit www.nate.org.uk.

Teaching the language teachers

The annual conference of language teaching body Cilt is a two-day event (one day for primary, one for secondary) in London in November. It will focus on initial teacher education and is aimed at trainers and mentors. For details www.cilt.org.uk

Power to the young people

An online documentary, Britain’s Lost Ballot, follows three teenagers as they campaign for the right to vote at 16, highlighting recycling and homophobic bullying. It is online until the end of October at www.communitychannel.org.
