Linlithgow Academy is holding a Citizenship Week from June 21-25, encouraging staff and pupils to be active and responsible citizens within the school, local community and as part of Scotland and Europe. A variety of activities will take place over the week, including a quiz, a debate, the building of a slum and a Fair Trade tasting challenge. These aim to raise pupils’ awareness of issues that affect everyone’s lives. At the end of the week, invited guests will see a showcase of the citizenship work pupils and staff do in class and extra-curricular activities, such as the school’s eco group and justice and peace group. Together they hope to make the world “a better place”.
