Results morning: roll out of bed, log in and find out

When I was informed that my Edexcel AS politics result would be available online this year, I thought great: roll out of bed and log in, writes Samantha Lewis.

As I live three miles from my school, this new system made it easier to access my results, and I could retrieve the information at 6am, meaning that the agonising process was not delayed longer than usual.

Edexcel’s service was also positive for those who booked a holiday coinciding with results day, as Edexcel grades could be accessed online from anywhere in the world (although it may have ruined their holiday!).

Despite this, I still had to go to school to pick up the results slips for my other three subjects English, history and dance which I took with other boards.

For me, with immense pressure from teachers to achieve and peers comparing results, I preferred being in the comfort of my own home receiving my grades online.

The only downside for techno-phobics like myself is that technology has branched out one step further.

Samantha Lewis, 17, took AS levels at Biddenham upper school, Bedford
