Over the last few years there have been loads of revision materials available online. It’s been great news for students with regular access to the Internet, but for the rest it’s been the same old paper products. Access to interactive materials is now about to widen thanks to the BBC’s enhanced digital revision service.

The GCSE Bitesize website provides content on 16 exam subjects. A limited Bitesize service is now being offered to cable and satellite subscribers who don’t have access to a computer. From early March, English, maths, biology, chemistry and physics content will be available to NTL and Telewest subscribers. Sky digital subscribers will be able to access a text-only service in the same five subjects and viewers with web-enabled TV sets will also be able to get the limited Bitesize service.

The BBC’s revision service for 9 to 11-year-olds, Revisewise, will also have a Web and TV presence. Revisewise TV though, will be restricted to the early hours on BBC2. For further details on the BBC’s revision services, visit the website at www.bbc.co.ukschools.
