Revision sites

Most revision sites boast about their content-rich pages that provide students with everything they need to know about their chosen subjects. Model answers, board-specific modules and self-assessment software are all pretty much standard fare on the best revision sites.

One site, though, is offering students something very different - advice on how to pass exams. Revisionhelp. com has been written by pyschologist and long-time student Susie Rumsey, who says exam skills are often neglected.

Visitors to the site get free snippets of information; if they’re imprssed by what they see they can order the first chapter free. Anyone wanting to see the whole file will need to pay pound;10 for the PDF file of Revisionhelp lite which can only be read on screen, and pound;15 for the unlocked, printable version. Orders can be taken online.

The entire file should take about two hours to read. It includes sections on time management, organising notes and memory-skill games. It also has information on how to deal with the exam itself - an area that is sometimes neglected in revision advice. Go to www.revision help.com for more info.
