All secondary schools in Scotland will receive a free S1S2 resource pack on road safety education early this term as part of a national campaign.

The activities in the hefty ringbinder link to the 5-14 health education guidelines and are intended to be incorporated into personal and social education programmes.

The Scottish Road Safety Campaign recommends a minimum of two hours on the programme for S1 and S2 pupils. The three main sections cover levels D and E and support materials and script for an S1 play. Each section contains teachers’ notes, lesson plans and worksheets.

If you do not receive a pack, contact education officer Catrina Steenberg, tel 0131 472 9204, e-mail catrina.steenberg@scotland.gsi.gov.uk www.srsc.org.uk.
