Rock music is a good influence

PUPILS who get involved in music and dance are less likely to take drugs or play truant, a survey has suggested.

More than half the teachers from 98 schools around the country which took part in the 2000Rock Challenge reported reduced truancy rates. The event, set up by Mark Pontin, a Hampshire police chief inspector, four years ago, involves each school giving an eight-minute musical performance.
