“Write to Roly - the dog with his own website.” That’s the invitation to primary pupils from the 11-year-old labrador (pictured above) whose owner has two children at a Norfolk school.
Roly has his own website (www.write2roly.ik.org) where everyone can read of his adventures: Did he eat 11 fairy cakes all at the same time?
The website has a guestbook and children from reception to Year 6 can write a message to Roly. But as the canine is the school’s punctuation watchdog, he will only publish messages that are written, spelt and punctuated correctly. He also sends a short reply to each correct message.
Children can log on to the website, whether in school or at home, and improve their writing skills. And there is a real incentive to receive a message from Roly.
The website was easy to set up through the free service provided by www.schools.ik.org and is maintained by Roly’s owner
