Room for community

I have just left a large comprehensive where the staffroom had been converted into two classrooms. Each subject had its own work area. Of course, this meant that colleagues did not meet informally, exchange information (except by email), eat their sandwiches or experience any camaraderie. This can lead to isolation. Bring back the staffroom so that all staff can feel part of the school community. I’m off to pastures new.
