TWO Scottish FE colleges are among the 23 winners of this year’s Queen’s Anniversary Prizes, the UK-wide accolade for universities and colleges.

Lauder College in Dunfermline was singled out for its efforts in establishing 14 employment and enterprise centres across Scotland, while Banff and Buchan College in Fraserburgh ha been lauded for marine engineering education in the fishing industry.

The only other Scottish FE college to be awarded the prize was Aberdeen College in 1994. The new awards were presented at a ceremony in London on Thursday by Viscount Younger of Leckie, chairman of the trustees of the Royal Anniversary Trust.
