Exhibitions where the products of scientific inquiry are on display are enjoyable but commonplace. It’s more unusual to see the scientists themselves as part of the presentation. At the Royal Society’s annual Summer Science Exhibition, visitors can talk to some of the people whose research they are observing. Topics include the treatment of malignant brain tumours, robotics in farming, obesity, IT in forensic science, climate prediction and the possible impact on Earth of asteroids and other extra-terrestrial bodies - current investigations that shape the future. The Royal Society Summer Science Exhibition is free from July 3-5 at 6 Carlton House Terrace, London SW1Y 5AG. Information is available on 020 7451 2561 or at www.royalsoc.ac.uk
