Graham Shiel, capped 18 times for Scotland, has been named as the new rugby development officer for West Lothian. He replaces John Peggie, who has been appointed development officer for Highlands and Islands.

One of Mr Shiel’s priorities will be to run coach and teacher education programmes as part of West Lothian Council’s Sport for All strategic plan. He will work closely with primary and secondary schools and clubs.

“Hopefully, my work will lead to some players taking the field for Scotland,” he says.
