RM has developed a system that allows schools and colleges to send data securely on the Internet. The first application for the SecureNet system is an exam data exchange service, which lets institutions exchange entries, amendments and results data with awarding bodies. Meanwhile, software that claims to block out advertising on websites has been released by British firm ADfilter. It says it makes downloading web pages up to five times faster and blocks access to “adult” material. Schools can obtain a free multi-user licence for up to three months by emailing gm@ukf.net or fax 01491 572 249.
