Our item in which an English church school head answered the phone with the immortal words “head of John the Baptist speaking” prompted memories for one reader of a Lanarkshire RE course some years ago.
Participants were asked to introduce themselves by their first nameand give the name of their school. And so it went: “Maureen Glenboig, Sheila St Helen’s, Vincent St Mary’s, Paul Christ the King . . .” (For those with a shameful ignorance of Lanarkshire’s highways and byways, Christ the King primary is, of course, in Holytown.)
