The Scottish Qualifications Authority may not yet have regained infallibility but Catholic connections can solve most problems.
When Jim McVittie, headteacher of St Ninian’s High in Giffnock, received the latest batch ofappeal results, 14 of the names bore no relationship to the school register.
“I realised that they had to be from St Ninian’s in Kirkintilloch,” he said. “They sounded like Catholic names, so we sent them on.”
