Nick Coleman and Joel Williams of BMRB International Ltd surveyed 3,000 young people for their evaluation of Modern Apprenticeships, and the summary results are among nearly 100 pieces of commissioned research listed at the Education and Employment website at http:www.dfee.gov.ukresearchbriefindex.html.

“I’ve worked since I was 11- years-old as well as being in full-time education. I’ve worked in markets and chip shops.” This quotation is used to help substantiate the claim that Modern Apprentices are more focused on the “real” world of work than other school students.

Other topics include the export value of education and training to the UK, the educational achievements of deaf children, and the legislative basis of school governance. Full reports can be ordered but the web summaries, at more than 1,000 words, are substantial.
