The Department for Education and Skills is urging schools to take more interest in space exploration after becoming an official member of the British National Space Centre partnership. Charles Clarke, the Education Secretary, and Lord Sainsbury, innovation minister, were due to unveil a series of new teaching resources yesterday to help pupils learn about the international Cassini-Huygens mission to Saturn, which has involved British scientists. www.bnsc.gov.uklearningzone
