MEANWHILE, students in Wales who didn’t quite make the grade are offered a glimpse of the future, thanks to a new clearing service.
The University of Wales College, Newport, is running a drop-in stand at a Tesco supermarket. After checking out courses, students can presumably enquire about shelf-stacking jobs in cse no one will have them.
The store and stand are open 24-hours-a-day, and a UWCN press release brightly suggests: “Insomniacs will be able to combine their career advice with shopping.”
Fluffing your A-levels can lead to sleepless nights - it’s true. But it’s good to know there’s a positive side.
