If you buy equipment and services for your school or college, you could take advantage of a free time-saving resource aimed at the education sector.

Scemes (Schools and Colleges Educational, Maintenance and Equipment Supplies), which runs a website for school buyers, has launched a CD-Rom that gives institutions offline access to a directory of suppliers.

The CD-Rom contains the same information as the website, and updates can be downloaded to keep the discs current. Buyers can search for anything from computer equipment to maypoles, and from special needs products to firms that can fix the school roof. The suppliers listed are national - for specialist or large orders - and regional.

The website offers the Teacher’s Pet dedicated search service, which takes the legwork out of gathering quotes. Copies of the CD-Rom can be ordered on the website at www.scemes.com or by calling 01691 680390.
