How do education systems around the world compare? This year, two massive international studies will be publishing their results. The Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) will reveal how well 15-year-olds are doing in maths, reading and science, when it publishes its results in December. The Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) will focus on the maths and science achievement for both children in Year 5 (aged 9 to 10) and Year 9 (aged 13 to 14). It will be out at the end of November. Here we have pulled together all the latest information and the background reading you need to help you make sense of the results and how they will influence education.
