A legal judgment has caused the London Borough of Lambeth to keep open a special boarding school with just one pupil at a cost of Pounds 650,000 a year.

A High Court judge ruled last May that Enborne Lodge School in Berkshire should remain open as the council had failed to consult parents under the terms of the 1993 Education Act.
