Lilyofthefield: I had heard that the main argument for keeping schools open is that it will allow parents to carry on working, and will keep kids together -neither being much of an argument.
MsAnonymous: As much as I think it’s unlikely to be a problem (bird flu hasn’t mutated and is no more likely to do so than other non-human illnesses), it’s nice to know that there are plans in place.
Blazer: Did anyone hear the news last night when it was announced that any measures to combat bird flu would be co-ordinated from 10 Downing Street! Now does that fill anyone with confidence?
