LESS than 1 per cent of local authority schools have asked to manage their own insurance cover under the new Fair Funding regulations, says a study by insurers Zurich Municipal. Researchers found only 190 schools that had chosen to take their insurance cover out of their local authorities’ hands. Seventy grant-maintained schools had chosen to opt back into their LEA insurance service.
