The Primary Teacher as Scientist is a 48-page booklet reporting on in-service training projects designed both to inspire and enhance teachers’ understanding of scientific process. It outlines a number of intriguing case studies which cover more traditional problems such as the sound absorbency of different materials or the relative strengths of types of timbr. They also show how to answer questions sparked by curiosity, such as “Do cows have friends?” or “Do your sunglasses give value for money?” In all cases, a methodology is given as well as discussion of results.
